Fluorescent starter/ Light. Cheaper to leave on or keep turning off?
I remember being told years ago, that once a fluorescent light was turned on, it was more economic to leave it on, rather than keep switching it on or off. I understood the starter used up much more energy to start the light up initially, so it was uneconomic
Its extremely negligible. They actually tested this on Myth Busters too. But today they are so efficient that there really isn't a difference when starting it up. It did use slightly more electricity to turn on but it was such a tiny amount more for
