BMW가 11월말부터 출시될 5시리즈 2012년형에 4기통 2.0ℓ 터보 엔진 적용을 발표했다.
3일 BMW코리아는 세계 자동차 업계에서 유행처럼 번지는 엔진 다운사이징에 대응키 위해 전략 중형 세단 5시리즈에 내년부터 3.0ℓ 자연흡기 엔진 대신 4기통 2.0ℓ 터보 엔진을 탑재한다고 밝혔다.
엔진 다운사이징의 핵심이 성능 유지와 효율 극대화에 있는 만큼 2,000cc급 터보 엔진은 최적의 대안이라는 게 회사측 설명이다. 국내에는 184마력 엔진의 520i와 245마력의 528i가 각각 판매될 예정이다.
